Tom's Rally prepared MGZR 180 sports the Draig Training logo
This weekend saw our latest sponsorship deal kick in, as the up and coming driving talent known as Tom Haines took to the hills of Mid Wales for the testing of his new180 MGZR Group N Rally Car.
Tom, who is the 22 year old boyfriend of Jessica who has worked for Draig as an Administrator for almost 3 years, is considered to be one of the young, up and coming talents rising the ranks of British Motorsport. Tom, who originates from Cardiff, has been driving since a very early age and his is definately a name to watch out for in the future!
Before turning his hand to Rallying, Tom had competed in several rounds of the FIA GT3 European Championship, where he drove cars prepared by both Porsche and aston Martin.
In addition to the GT3 racing, Tom finished 6th in his first year in the Formula Palmer Audi Series and 4th in the 2006 Full Championship which clearly demonstrated his natural talent for racing.

Tom was in good company last weekend whilst testing his rally prepared MG car; as he was joined by probably the most famous co-driver the UK has ever produced.... Nicky Grist who famously accompanied the late great Colin McRae amongst other famous names in the world of rally.
Since he retired from competition, Nicky Grist has been involved in television. He presents the World Rally Championship on Speed TV in the United States, and he is also the resident pundit on the official WRC coverage around the world.

Tom intends to enter the forthcoming Wales Rally GB and has his sights set on the prestigious WRC also.
