Ho Ho Ho!
Team Draig join in the festive cheer.
In December 2009, the generous team members at Draig agreed to donate £10.00 each and the business matched the amount raised, in order to buy Christmas presents for the children at LATCH - the Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity.
LATCH is a voluntary organisation set up to support the special requirements of the children’s oncology centre, which is based at the Children’s Hospital for Wales, to help affected families and promote research in childhood cancer.
They are very much an ongoing charity as the needs of the children change constantly with new treatment techniques and new equipment being made available. Essential parents’ accommodation is also provided. All this is dependent on the public’s help to ensure that children with cancer and leukaemia in Wales obtain the best facilities available.
Draig has been actively raising funds for LATCH for over two years and it has set itself a target to raise £1,000 for the charity in 2010.
"We ran a casual dress month for December 2009, whereby all of the team here at Draig had the option to wear casual clothes if they donated £10 towards the cost of Christmas presents for the children on the ward at the LATCH hospital." Said Ross Porter, Managing Director of Draig.
"All of the staff kinldy participated and the business matched the amount raised towards the costs of the presents. We thought it would make a nice gesture and we're already planning some fundraising events for LATCH for 2010." He went on to say.
