A leading insurance provider Nr the Cardiff area are seeking an experienced Motor Underwriter with strong technical skills, used to handling referrals, dealing with brokers, analysing account performance and contributing to product development. Exposure to commercial vehicle experience would be preferable. Knowledge of EDI is essential. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive Company in its Underwriting Department. This is a newly created role in which you can make a significant contribution to the development of the Motor portfolio.
Responsibilities include:-
Handling technical referrals, both internal and external
Enhancing processes and controls
Carrying out audits
Building and maintaining relationships with third party suppliers
Involvement in account analysis and making recommendations to improve performance
Producing and maintaining underwriting guides and policy wordings
Keeping abreast of market and regulatory developments
Requirements
Strong technical motor skills and knowledge
Minimum 5 years motor experience
Able to demonstrate success
Working towards the ACII
Knowledge of EDI
Good understanding of the motor insurance market
Good IT and strong Excel skills
Good problem solving and the ability to take the initiative
Team player, motivated and committed to the aims of the business
Remuneration
