· Assist with software development and support on the PC platform.
· Proficient in all areas within the project development life cycle using Prince2 project methodology.
· Proficient with P.C software systems on the Windows platform in a support, programming or consultancy role, preferably in a local government environment.
· Proficient in supporting Microsoft Windows XP Pro desktop PCs.
· Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server Administration (DBA) on SQL2000 & SQL2005 or new versions.
· Proficient in support and development of Microsoft Office 2000, 2003 or higher (Access, Excel, Word)
· Proficient with MS Visual Basic and Visual Studio in building applications and ASP web pages/sites.
· Proficient in the software product life cycle.
· Proficiently capable of meeting and conversing with all levels of users, their managers and heads of service within the council and our partners.
· Skilled in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Active Directory and File/Folder Permissions.
· Skilled in MS SQL2005 Business Intelligence - SSRS and SSAS.
· Skilled with MS SQL2000 DTS and MS SQL2005 SSIS.
· Skilled in MS SharePoint (WSS 3.0 & MOSS)
· Competent understanding of n-tier technology and architecture.
· Competent understanding of Mobile technology.
· Experience in 1st and/or 2nd line support for Windows XP clients.
· Experience of the Helpdesk role.
